Welcome to my shame post. Today I’m making a list of all the books I said I’d read, but haven’t gotten around to. Let’s call it The TBR List of Shame because that’s what it is.
Having an unmanageable TBR is a common ailment for book bloggers. Inevitably, there will be books I never get to no matter how much I want to read them, but that doesn’t mean I have to like it. Today’s post is dedicated to all those books I’d like to get to someday. I first saw this tag on Space and Sorcery so if you’d like to see more shame posts head over there.
The TBR List of Shame
The Broken Kingdoms (Inheritance Trilogy #2) by N.K. Jemisin
I remember saying I’d read this book last year, but I still haven’t gotten to it. Recently I’ve been going back over some of my reviews from last year, and I remembered how much I liked the first book in this series. Hopefully, I can get to this next one soon!
The Dragon Republic (The Poppy War #2) by R.F. Kuang
I actually started this book a while back but got distracted by other shiny books. I think I just wasn’t in the right headspace for dense, grimdark fantasy. I’m planning on rereading The Poppy War sometime anyway, so I might postpone continuing this series until I have time to read all three books.
Kings and Daemons (The Gifted and The Cursed #1) by Marcus Lee
I said I’d read this book sometime last year but never got around to it. Since it’s a series, I don’t think I’ll get to it soon either. I have too many half-finished series to get through first.
The Eye of the World (The Wheel of Time Series #1) by Robert Jordan
This book was one of many on my Wyrd and Wonder TBR last year. Of that list, there are quite a few I haven’t read, but I’m most disappointed about not getting to this one. I’ve heard there’s a Wheel of Time TV series coming out, and I want to start the book in time to watch that.
The City of Brass (The Daevabad Trilogy #1) by S.A. Chakraborty
Another series I’ve been meaning to read, but haven’t gotten to. This is another book I’ll have to keep putting off until I can finish the other series I’m in the middle of.
Breaking Legacies by Zoe Reed
This book has been on my TBR since Self-Published Fantasy Month last year. It’s also the only standalone novel on this list, so it doesn’t come with as much commitment. Hopefully I can find some time this summer to get through it!
We Ride the Storm (The Reborn Empire #1) by Devin Madson
I added this to my TBR after reading some fantastic reviews from my fellow bloggers. I’m not in a hurry to read this series, but I think I’ll add it to my TBR for Self-Published Fantasy Month.
The Wolf of Oren-Yaro (Chronicles of the Bitch Queen #1) by K.S. Villoso
Everything I’ve heard about this series makes me think I’ll love it. Also, the last book came out this year!
I’ll get to these books… Someday. Maybe. Preferably before I die.
